Opening Ceremony of “Define / Refine “

Yesterday was the opening of the exhibition Define-Refine @formdesigncenter in Malmö, Greater Copenhagen, Sweden curated by @ArchitectsSweden. Our proposal “Our soil” is exploring the European tradition of timber framed construction, where south Sweden is the last outpost before the more northern traditions. Connecting south swedish and european history with contemporary wood architecture we propose a mobile, modulare wood construction able to connect the diverse and various identities and contexts of south Sweden.
A collaboration with Schauman & Nordgren Architects and Lia Ghilardi.

Define/Refine

Form & Design center, The south Swedish center for architecture craft and designed living environments in Malmö, Greater Copenhagen, will be hosting 2 architecture days during the 1st and 2nd of September. During these days we will be presenting our proposal “Our soil / Notre Terroir / Vår Mylla ” that is part of the exhibition Define/Refine, exploring critical regionalism (Opening the 27th of August, curated by “Architects Sweden”)

EGA + Schauman & Nordgren Architects + Lia Ghilardi forms our team proposing a mobile, modulare and contemporary timber framed wiki-pavillion.

By studying traditional wood construction techniques we propose a contemporary reinterpretation connecting to both the local history, connecting to a contemporary demand of wood architecture as well as our own coherent and strong interest and focus on wood construction

It’s an architecture aiming to manifest and show that everyone has the possibility to influence our gathering places and identities in the region with the help of architecture.
