The project is a refurbishment of a patio building in the city center of Gabes, Tunisia. Although Gabes is the only city in the world with an oasis along the sea costline, the development of tourism was precluded by the strong presence of polluting chimical industries. This project aims to prompt a new touristique, cultural and ecological impulse. It begins with a cinema theater as the starting point of the recent arabic film festival of Gabes. Then comes the construction of a 4 stars hotel. The building is raised by an extra floor composed of planted terraces overhanged by a light structure roof.
